Little Dorrit

L'Office de presse de la BBC vient de confirmer la participation de Matthew Macfadyen dans la nouvelle série produite pour BBC One, Little Dorrit, d'après l'oeuvre de Charles Dickens. Il tiendra le rôle d'Arthur Clennam.

Et un autre livre en anglais à lire, un ! Et un point pour Darcylicious, un !

Si l'on en croit le site de son agent, Matthew Macfadyen devrait apparaître comme guest star auprès de son épouse Keeley Hawes dans la série Ashes to Ashes, programmée à partir de février 2008 sur BBC One. Il s'agit d'un "spin-off" de la série à succès Life on Mars.

Son personnage s'appellera Gil Hollis et interviendra dans les épisodes 3 ou/et 4.

Since I adore Matthew Macfadyen as an actor (he played John Birt), can you tell me about his role, and his performance?
Will MM garner any attention for his efforts?
There is a scene where John Birt runs butt-naked into the ocean once he knows that the interview was a success. Can you give any details about that scene? Lots of inquiring minds want to know as much about that scene as possible! Also, can you tell from the surroundings where it was filmed?

The beach scene....hmmmmm....STUNNING!!! !! It was very fleeting and shot a little too far away for my liking, I would have preferred a close up shot :) Even so, you will not be disappointed, round and muscular....ummmmmm!

Matthew looked funky in his 70's hair do..and his beach scene was short but sweet =]

How was the actor Matthew Macfadyen who played John Birt? He had a scene that was particluarly interesting...can you tell us more?

Oh, wait, I just had a thought about what scene you might be talking about! Are you referring to his nude scene?? It's a shot of him running into the ocean naked. It's shot from behind, so you can see the entire rear of his body. Unfortunately it only lasts a few seconds. You see him run into the ocean, fall in the waves, and that's it. There is enough time, however, to catch a good glimpse of his rear end (which is very, very pale)!

........and I suspect a DVD zoom might reveal some freckles! Ah, those Scottish genes........

La pièce de Bruce Norris, mise en scène par Dominic Cooke au Royal Court Theatre, est nommée dans la catégorie Meilleure nouvelle comédie.

Andrea Riseborough, qui y interprétait le rôle de Kalina, est nommée dans la catégorie Meilleure actrice dans un second rôle.

L'interprétation de Matthew Macfadyen, dans le rôle de Clay, reste dans bien des mémoires...

Ce téléfilm en deux parties de Peter Kosminsky sur la réorganisation historique du Parti travailliste britannique entre 1992 et 2001, coproduit par la BBC et Arte France, a été diffusé en France sur Arte en septembre 2003, puis à nouveau en mai 2005. La chaîne cablée Histoire l'a également diffusé en mai et juin derniers.

Il n'est malheureusement toujours pas disponible ni en cassette VHS ni en DVD.

This two-part TV film, by Peter Kosminsky, about the historical reorganization of the British Labour Party between 1992 and 2001, coproduced by the BBC and Arte France, was broadcast in France on Arte in September 2003, then again in May 2005. The cable channel Histoire also broadcast it in May and June 2007.

Unfortunately, it is not yet available on VHS cassette nor DVD.

We beg anyone who has recorded this programme and wishes to share it with Matthew Macfadyen's fans all over the world, to please contact us.
